-Well I played flute all through middle school and I was first chair also. Sadly the flute belonged to the school so now that I am in high school I have no more flute and also I quit band to fit in other classes that I am going to need. So basically I have been selling some things and finally saved enough money to buy a pretty good flute. Something not too expensive but not to cheap, maybe looking at an intermediate flute. I just want the flute to be something that was good to play here at my house and not cheap quality. If anyone has any idea of a place I can order from or go to please comment and let me know please! If not well thanks for at least giving my question a look at! :DGood afternoon ElisaP!
That is awesome that you are going to continue playing the flute! There is a flute that I recommend to my students and I know that many other teachers have done the same; the Jupiter 511. The Carolyn Nussbaum Music Co. (flute4u.com) is where both my students and I have purchased our flutes. When my beginners were looking for flutes, the Carolyn Nussbaum Music Co. directed them to the search bar on their website and told them to type in "Beginner Flute 5." In doing this they arrived to a page that had a link for the specs of the "Beginner Flute 5" along with the price $395. This Jupiter 511 flute is the cheapest flute, with the best quality, that I have found. I don't think you will have an easy time finding a flute of this quality for a cheaper price.
I hope this helps!Hi,
You should look in the classifieds section of your news paper and look for a decent second hand one. You should do some research and find out what the best brand of flute is. You could try eBay for a second hand flute as well.
There's nothing wrong with second hand instruments, if they have been well looked after then they can sound better with age!
