Need help with acoustic guitar?

-When i play chords the notes always have like a buzz sound at the end.my dad said it was because my nails werent cut but i cut them and still the same thing happens. What can i do to fix this?There are a few things to address: First, are you fretting the string in the proper place? Secondly, are you holding the string down far enough?
