-i'm thinking of buying a Acoustic Guitar, i don't know much about them and i want to learn, what should i look for? which brand is the best? because the brand i found was a Yamaha (not sure what kind) Guitars are verrrry limited so i was lucky to even actually find oneAgree with notes from OU812 and On the Rock.
Only one other brand besides Yamaha and Takamine (of which I also have played in the past) is Ibanez.
Their model line is nearly identical in quality and performance as the Yamahas, from the low end to the high.
My main 'work' guitar is an Ibanez, Artwood acoustic/electric that serves me very well.
I once had a Yamaha FG 335 II for about 30 years before trading up. They still have this in their model line (tried one about a few years back) I think, and it sounds and feels like the old one did. Something said for a well made guitar at a still low price.
Only problem was some minor warping of the top, below the bridge and began to notice bowing of the neck, as the strings began to rise up. But always stayed in tune after string changes. 30 years later (but, well taken care of too).
I also agree with the Yamaha FG200. Around here, it's $200.
The other guitars in that price range don't do it for me. It is a very subjective thing though.
Make sure the guitar has a solid top, doesn't buzz, and the chords sound good all over the neck.
Also, stay away from guitars that have a heavy paint or veneer - it subtracts from the sound and adds to the price!
The main thing is to get a solid top if possible (as opposed to a laminate top). And to get one that feels comfortable to you. There are different body and neck sizes so one may feel far better to you than the others. Yamaha makes a great acoustic, the Yamaha FG720S is a great choice at $279.
