Songwriting and Composing, Schools and Careers?

-Hi i am a songwriter and a composer. I would love to go to college for songwriting and composing. But Is there a college program and a degree for it? and can i have a career out of it? if there are what colleges are the best? is there colleges that offer the program in NYC?
