How long would it take for me to get good at the violin?

-im 13 soon to be 14. I'm starting to get interested in the violin and electric. Ive played a few instruments but never really get into it probably cuz i was young but i know the basics of the violin like how to hold the bow and i can play a few songs like twinkle twinkle little star. I also have a good ear for music. so how long would it take to be good or decent? also i will be taking lessons and practicing daily. I want to play the electric violin so i need to know the violin first but i dont know how long it would take before i could move onWith a teacher (Good one) serious practice and the willingness to learn easy music first. You should be doing pretty good in a year.

I suggest you get a book of short songs. It most likely will be for voice, but that is fine. Learn a piece a week. That depends on:

Your innate level of talent.

The skill of your teacher.

How hard you're willing to work.

What your definition of "good" is.

Someone with a moderately high talent level who practices daily can get to the advanced beginner point in a couple of years. If you want to sound like the recording artists you hear, give it at least ten years.
For a long time
Well I Was Not As Good As A Normal Beginner Because I Did Not Have A Tutor And I Still Don't Have One, Even-though I Learned Guitar From The Internet And Now I Can At-least Play Well (Not Too Good). For Learning Instruments It Has To Be Given A Lot Of Time, That Doesn't Mean The Whole Day, Just Limit It To One Hour Or A Bit More. If You Get Exhausted By Not Doing Well In It Don't Get Exhausted Because It Will Ruin Your Enthusiasm For Learning It.

Lastly, Keep Practicing And Ask A Tutor To Help You Progress. If You Do Not Have A Tutor, Then Find One As Soon As Possible Because A Tutor Can Always Make A Person Better.

Hope You Understand And My Help Actually Helps You.

And Yes, You Are In An Age Where You Can Quickly Grasp Any New Techniques, So Be Patient, It Will Come To You As You Go On Practicing.
