Where can i put a lyre on a concert bass clarinet? (it doesn't have a holder)?
-Okay here's the deal, I am in Marching band and my high school has a few bass clarinets but the others don't work at all(old and broken) so the only one decent is a concert bass clarinet (big one)(not contrabass) and i wanted to know how can i use a lyre while marching with it and being on the stands playing.(football games) i was planning on going to The Music Store so they could install the holder(and get reeds). and could The Music Store also put in cork? cause the one i'm using has the cork all used up and falls off easy (middle) it came off on me once i was marching, and it was Pre-UIL i was so embarassed, back what i was saying, is there a chance i would be able to get it?Bass clarinets aren't often used in marching bands, which is why most don't include lyre holders. Either switch to soprano clarinet or some kind of saxophone, or work on memorizing your music. The other option is to get one of those arm-mounted music holders flute players use.
